Jesus’s resurrection

Jesus Christ was raised from the dead through the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 1:4) according to the prophecy of the Old Testament (1 Corinthians 15:4) on the third day after being crucified (John 20:1, Acts 10:40, 1 Corinthians 15:4). His tomb, with his grave-clothes still there but empty, was seen by Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, Salome the wife of Zebedee, Joanna the wife of Chuza, Peter, John, and the Roman soldiers guarding the tomb (Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20). Jesus then appeared alive first to Mary Magdalene (John 20:14) and the women accompanying her (Matthew 28:9), then to two disciples on their way from Jerusalem to Emmaus (Luke 24:15), then ten disciples in a room in Jerusalem (Luke 24:36), then again to all eleven of his disciples on multiple occasions (John 20:26, Mark 16:14, Matthew 28:17, John 21:14), and to more than five hundred people at one time (1 Corinthians 15:6).
