Kolobeng Mission

1847

In 1847, Livingstone moved on from Chonuane to build a mission at Kolobeng, where Chief Sechele, ruler of the Kwêna people, made a profession of faith, but only for a few months, in 1849. During his time in Kolobeng, Livingstone travelled north three times, which convinced him to take up exploration as a means of trailblazing a way for future missions.
