Moody and Sankey visit

1873

In 1873, Americans Dwight L. Moody and Ira D Sankey led an evangelistic mission in Scotland. Though many Calvinist ministers opposed them, Andrew Bonar and his brother Horatius welcomed the Americans. Andrew encouraged and helped Moody as Spurgeon had done in England, and afterwards he attributed a period of revival to Moody’s mission.
