1807 - 1807

Primitive Methodism was seen to originate in an All Day of Prayer (often miscalled a “Camp Meeting” held at Mow Cop, Staffordshire on 31st May 1807 [2]. This led, in 1811, to two groups joining together, the ‘[[Camp Meeting MethodistsCamp_meeting]]’ and the ‘Clowesites’, led by Hugh Bourne and William Clowes respectively.
