Vibia Perpetua (born c. 182 in Carthage) was a young mother of a wealthy family who died a martyr in 203 with five other Christians refusing to renounce their faith. While imprisoned, Perpetua kept a diary of her trial, imprisonment, and dreams, and before her death she passed the diary on to another Christian who recorded her martyrdom by sword.
