Robert Haldane

1764 - 1842

Robert Haldane was a Scottish nobleman who upon his conversion became much burdened to spread the gospel. He built many churches throughout Scotland and set up theological seminaries.

In 1816 he left Scotland and settled in Geneva which was at that time spiritually desolate. He invited theological students into his home and through his lectures and witness 25 were converted (including Cesar Malan and Merle D’Aubigne) and these went on the spread the gospel through Western Europe.
