Graham enrolled at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, in 1940 for a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. During his time as a student there, he pastored the United Gospel Tabernacle and took preaching engagements across the Midwest. He became convinced of the Bible’s sole authority. He also met Ruth Bell, the daughter of missionaries to China and a fellow student.
