A Conservative Christian councillor has vowed to launch legal action after being cancelled by seven organisations for sharing a tweet on the biblical position on LGBT pride events.

King Lawal, 31, who has been a councillor at North Northamptonshire Unitary Council for two years, said he has had his ‘life torn apart’.

He has been suspended by the Conservative party pending an investigation and was warned of a possible police investigation.

The Christian Legal Centre, which is supporting Lawal, said the repercussions faced by the councillor are ‘unprecedented’.
