Economic persecution may not be violent, but it is still painful

Just last month, in this very comment column, this newspaper warned about Christians being potentially locked out of financial systems for holding to unpopular biblical beliefs. Some of our readers may have found that a bit far-fetched. Little did we know that within days of that editorial being published, the case of Revd Richard Fothergill would come to light.
