Grace Baptist Partnership (GBP) Scotland has much to praise God for, not just in terms of well-attended conferences but also in outreach opportunities and launching a dedicated Facebook page.
The Rebuild and Certain Sound conferences were a blessing to many, and the audio resources have been downloaded many times since from and
Pastor Ali McLachlan, general secretary of GBP Scotland, said, ‘We have also had a good number express interest in joining our Week of Evangelism in Wick from 11-19 August.’
He added:’In April, Pastor Conrad Pomeroy and I were grateful to help Pathhead Baptist Church in Kirkcaldy, Fife, with teaching on evangelism. Folk from other churches attended. We were encouraged from God’s promise in Psalm 126: faithful evangelism will yield fruit. We looked at biblical parameters for outreach and considered ways to implement these principles today’.
He also said praise should be given to God for an opportunity to preach the gospel to an Open University tutorial group recently. ‘One lady said she would like to study Christianity Explored with my daughter and myself. Another lady suggested she might come to our evening service.
‘Pray for a man who regularly attends our services. He is from a church background and has come to see that he is not saved’.
The GBP’s training course, which started in Perth in May, has had interest from 12 men in six churches, while the group’s new Facebook page, ‘GBP Scotland’, has had more than 150 people joining already.
Mr McLachlan added: ‘Please pray God would empower my preaching ministry in various places over the coming month. Pray too that the elders at Trinity, Dundee, and I would know God’s clear guidance on where to church plant in the days ahead.
‘It has been said many times that one could throw a dart at a map of Scotland and, wherever the dart lands, a church could legitimately be planted. May God guide our first dart!’
