The Department for Education has still not published guidance on whether teachers can refer to pupils by their legal and biological gender.

A written question in Parliament asked whether the government would issue guidance to clarify whether teachers may refer to pupils by their legal and biological gender.

The question, by Lord Pearson, referred to the recent case of Joshua Sutcliffe, a teacher who was banned from the profession for misgendering a pupil.
