Christian MSP and former leadership candidate for the Scottish National Party Kate Forbes has said she opposes plans to ban peaceful prayer outside abortion clinics.

The Scottish Parliament is currently considering proposals which would create ‘buffer zones’ around abortion centres, criminalising pro-life activity within such zones.

But Kate Forbes said that while it is right to ban any ‘harassment and anti-social behaviour’, it is important to ‘protect the freedom of those to pray in a peaceful way’.
