Proposals in Scotland to ban ‘conversion therapy’ could mean that parents who fail to support their own child’s gender transition face up to seven years in prison.

The same proposals may also catch any church leader in Scotland who preaches, prays, or pastors in a way which doesn’t support a person’s homosexuality.

The plans have been widely criticised in the secular press with headlines like, ‘Scotland is abandoning children to trans extremists’, and ‘The SNP’s conversion therapy plan is deeply sinister’.
