About 60 young people in their teens and twenties from 18 different churches gathered for the 24th SALT conference, held in Edinburgh in March.

The theme of the one-day conference was ‘saving the future’ with the aim of giving young people an optimistic biblical outlook amid the depressing secular news of today’s world.

Ali McLachlan (Grace Baptist Church, Edinburgh) delivered two sessions. His first session looked at ‘escaping dystopia’. Based on Psalm 96, Ali showed that despite the dystopian tendency of contemporary society, the Lord still reigns.
