Llantrisant

July 2013 | by David James

On Saturday 4 May, Tabor Baptist Church in Llantrisant, South Wales, held a service of recognition for Rev. Andrew Love as interim pastor.

Andrew has been appointed for up to 18 months, while on extended furlough with his family from his work with the Unevangelised Fields Mission (UFM) in Brazil.

The service was led by Peter Milsom, former director of UFM, and the sermon given by Rev. Stephen Clark of Free School Court Evangelical Church, Bridgend.

The Bible passage was read by Lyn Jones, Howard Bilton led in prayer and Vic Matthews spoke about Andrew’s calling. Then Peter Milsom commended Andrew to the church.

Stephen Clark spoke from 1 Corinthians 16:8-9 on opportunity and opposition. He urged the congregation to ask God to open doors of opportunity, but also reminded everyone that there will be opposition to the gospel. He said Paul dealt with opposition by preaching the gospel and that the gospel establishes the law, not the other way around.

The congregation at Tabor are thankful to God for bringing Andrew to them, and look to the Lord for help, wisdom and blessing, as they work together to further his kingdom.
