Hemel Hempstead Induction

February 2020 | by Richard Newman

“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.  Brethren, pray for us”.  – 1 Thessalonians 5:24-25

The officers and members of Alexandra Road Congregational Church would like to praise God for calling the Rev Chris Bennett (formerly of Wilton Community Church) to the Pastorate of ARCC in Hemel Hempstead.

The induction of Rev Chris Bennett took place on Saturday, 12 October 2019 at the church and was attended by many friends and ministers of other local fellowships.

Jeremy Marshall (son of former ARCC minister, Rev John E Marshall) preached helpfully from Luke 24. He encouraged all present to take Christ’s encounter with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus as our example for both encouragement and evangelism.

Chris shared how he was drawn to ARCC from an early stage in the process and that both he and Esther were now delighted to be able to serve in Hemel Hempstead.

All were greatly encouraged by the many friends and in particular ministers who were in attendance, as well as the genuine affection expressed by each of the churches involved. We thank God for his goodness to ARCC during the 7-year interregnum and pray for much blessing to both the churches and town of Hemel Hempstead.

We look to God alone, the author and finisher of our faith, to make each one of us faithful in serving him in the coming years.

‘From the rising of the sun to its going down, the Lord’s name is to be praised’ – Psalm 113:3
