From February this year, Ruth McCaig was appointed the Regional Manager for Scotland for Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Her role will involve developing Wycliffe’s engagement with churches in Scotland, particularly through overseeing Wycliffe’s volunteer programme. Ruth performed a similar role for Operation Christmas Child prior to joining Wycliffe, where she was Scottish and Faroe Islands Regional Manager.
Ruth’s role will also include speaking in a variety of church settings and training others to do the same. She will lead a team of Wycliffe staff and invite growing numbers of churches to participate in making God’s word available to all people.
Ruth said, ‘I am looking forward to beginning this role within Wycliffe and can’t wait to see all that God has in store’.
I want us in Scotland to demonstrate that we are still the “land of the Book” through our commitment to increased Bible access.
‘Through the work in Scotland, I plan for us to grow our volunteer network as well as to increase ministry awareness, and as a direct result make God’s word more accessible to the 1 in 5 people who still don’t have the Bible in their own language. We will work together to show how we can get involved in the vital work of Bible translation and see lives across the world transformed by the Scriptures’.
