Revd Andy Pearson is set to become the new minister of St Peter’s Free Church, Dundee.
Originally from Inverness, Andy completed a degree in Religious Studies & Scottish History at Edinburgh University before being employed by Kirkcaldy Free Church as a community worker. It was during this period in Fife that he felt called to the ministry.
After his time at Edinburgh Theological Seminary, Andy served as senior pastor of London City Presbyterian Church for eight years.
Andy said, ‘Although it is with a heavy heart that I leave a much-loved congregation in London, I am excited for this new chapter of ministry.
‘I covet the prayers of the wider church as I join the congregation of St Peter’s in bringing the good news of Jesus to the city of Dundee.’
During the vacancy period, Mission Director Revd David Meredith served as the congregation’s Interim Moderator.
He said, ‘I am delighted that Andy Pearson has accepted the call to be the new minister. Not only is it a church with an illustrious past, but the city of Dundee presents opportunities for a great future.’
Commenting on the new appointment, Stephen Allan, elder of St Peter’s, said, ‘We are delighted that Andy Pearson has accepted the call to come to St Peter’s as our Minister.
‘We are excited about the next chapter in the life of the church here in Dundee and look forward to how God will shape, strengthen, and grow his people under Andy’s ministry.’
Andy is married to Catherine and they have three children.
