Philippians is one of the high points in the Bible. Peter Barnes has written an engaging verse-by-verse commentary with the contents page essentially an analysis of the letter.
Barnes assumes Paul wrote Philippians from Rome with the context and setting of Acts 28. He provides a helpful discussion that gives themes, summary, and background, as well as describing how the letter was used in early Christian literature.
