Attending a Brethren Assembly with her parents, Ada was well taught in the Scriptures and came to saving faith early. A Victorian lady of private means, she was always busy in the Lord’s work, working tirelessly for a Ragged School, Spurgeon’s orphanage, Deep Sea Fishermen, and ‘park tramps’. She prayed regularly with others for vulnerable young women, leading the establishment of YWCA hostels with a clear Christian foundation, training staff to lead Bible studies.
