Millions of Christians have been displaced across Mali, Sudan, Niger, and other African countries as coordinated attacks by Islamist groups continue to target Christian communities.

In August, the Africa Center for Strategic Studies highlighted deaths caused by militant Islamist groups on the continent. Over 22,000 fatalities were recorded by the end of June 2025, the majority of victims being Christians in West, East, and Central Africa.
