Another nail in the Church of England’s coffin as St Paul’s partners with a nightclub

St Paul’s Cathedral in London has signed a four-year partnership with ‘Fabric’, one of London’s best-known nightclubs, to host music events under the famous dome of the Cathedral. If the Church of England leadership wanted to demonstrate just how far it’s willing to go to pander to the culture, it would be difficult to devise a more revealing publicity stunt.

According to St Paul’s, there will not be raves in the nave. The agreement is for a series of curated contemporary music events, with DJs and live artists, rather than simply turning the cathedral into a nightclub. But that distinction does not make the decision any less troubling.
