The Anglican Archbishop of York has expressed his frustration with the BBC, saying there is an 'appalling lack of religious literacy' at the national broadcaster.
Stephen Cottrell, who expressed his concern that faith has been sidelined across the corporation's content, was speaking during a debate about the BBC's charter renewal.
He said that religious broadcasting had become a 'poor and underfunded relative' at the BBC, and also questioned the wider approach of the corporation to faith.
