A Christian forensic psychiatrist who is also a Church of England priest has said the assisted suicide bill currently going though Parliament threatens hospice care.

Revd Dr Charlie Bączyk-Bell, who serves in the Diocese of Southwark and volunteers as a hospice chaplain, made the comments during a General Synod debate.

He called for an increase in funding for palliative care rather than putting vulnerable people at risk through a law to introduce assisted suicide.
