Seven Australian rugby players have boycotted their team’s match after the club unveiled jerseys with an LGBT+ affirming motif.

The incident began in July after Sydney-based Manly Warringah Sea Eagles team members refused to wear the ‘Pride’ rugby shirt.

The team members, from Polynesia, cited ‘religious and cultural’ convictions and said they had not been consulted about the new kit.
