Christians and other religious minorities in Bangladesh have reported a rise in extremism in the predominantly Muslim country.
According to reports from Barnabas Aid partners and others, intimidation, targeted attacks, and social boycotts have surged since the ousting of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in August 2024.
Despite significant economic progress in recent years, ongoing political tensions and social challenges continue to cause concern regarding the safety of religious minority communities, particularly in rural areas.
