A private members’ bill introduced by Labour MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle to outlaw conversion practices in England and Wales has failed in the House of Commons.

But activists are still pushing hard for a new criminal offence by tabling amendments to a criminal justice bill.

At the time of writing, no votes had yet been taken on those amendments.

Activists want to make it illegal for anyone to seek to change anyone else’s LGBT identity.
