A Chinese Christian was detained for 15 days after police discovered he was listening to the Bible through a USB stick in his car, according to Open Doors UK.

The man, identified only as ‘Brother Li’, was stopped by police, who searched his vehicle and found recordings of Scripture.

Open Doors said the incident highlights increasing restrictions on Christians’ access to Christian material.

Religious liberty organisation Release International said, ‘Christians in China are increasingly being monitored and restricted in what they can read, hear and share.’

Open Doors urged Christians to pray for believers facing pressure from Chinese authorities.
