West Street Evangelical Church’s summer programme of fellowship activities included a free screening of the 1970s classic film The Cross and the Switchblade.
Created as an evangelistic opportunity as well as a chance for friends and members to meet up during the summer, the church sent out an open invitation to local families.
Those who may have read Nicky Cruz’s book Run, Baby, Run will know the film follows his life as a young man, embroiled in a life of violence, theft, and gang mentality, and how his life changes through his encounter with a determined youth pastor, David Wilkerson.
