The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) has slammed a proposal by doctors to give corner shops, supermarkets, and petrol stations permission to sell the morning-after pill.
The proposal, put forward by the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (CSRH), suggests the so-called ‘abortion pill’ should be put alongside medicines such as paracetamol and ibuprofen, and made available without any pharmaceutical consultation.
This came after a YouGov survey of 2,115 British adults said it would be ‘difficult’ to obtain emergency contraception on a Sunday, while 65% said it would be difficult after 10 p.m.
