A Christian man has been reinstated to his role as a local councillor after he was suspended when he wrote ‘pride is a sin not a virtue’ on social media.

King Lawal, 31, has been supported by the Christian Legal Centre and was considering legal action to defend his right to free speech and religious liberty.

But at the end of October the leader of North Northamptonshire Unitary Council, Jason Smithers, reinstated Cllr Lawal.
