A survey which claimed to show most Church of England clergy no longer think Britain is a Christian country has been criticised as unreliable.

The survey, commission by The Times, made headlines in August with the newspaper urging the C of E to embrace liberal sexual attitudes or face extinction.

But the survey has been attacked as a ‘con’ by Ian Paul, an Anglican clergyman who studied pure mathematics at St John’s College, Oxford.
