We held our 2026 history lecture in early May. Pastor Pooyan Mehrshahi (Cheltenham) spoke on Henry Martyn, missionary to India and Burma.
Pooyan began by exhorting Christians to read biographies. In particular, a study of Henry Martyn will humble us and send us back to Christ.
Martyn was born at Truro in Cornwall in 1781 and died in Burma in 1812, aged just 31. He was a proud young man with outstanding abilities.
