Evangelical Christian, and conservative political activist, Charlie Kirk, has been shot and killed while speaking at a university campus in the US.

He was shot by a gunman at Utah Valley University as he discussed mass shootings committed by trans people.

He was shot through the neck by a gunman, understood to be positioned on a rooftop. At the time of writing, the gunman is still at large.

Kirk was a passionate supporter of US President Donald Trump, and seen by many as the leading figure for the MAGA youth movement.

He was also known for his evangelical faith and he debated religious issues with atheists on college campuses. ‘Jesus defeated death so you can live,’ he wrote in one of his last X posts this past Saturday.
