Finnish Christian politician Päivi Räsänen was forced to give a talk to a UK audience virtually after continued delays in getting her travel authorisation meant she received the right to enter too late to fly.
Grandmother Räsänen, who is a member of the Finnish Parliament’s Friends of the United Kingdom group, had been due to give an address on freedom of speech at a conference in August in Northern Ireland.
But although her application for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) had been approved in June, she was informed in July that the ETA had been cancelled.
