This book of daily readings, first published in 1879, now reissued by Banner of Truth Trust, was written by Robert Macdonald. He was a Free Church minister in Blairgowrie and North Leith, near Edinburgh, who served as Moderator of the Free Church of Scotland in 1882.
Macdonald was a close friend of Robert Murray M’Cheyne and the Bonar brothers; Andrew Bonar’s commendation is included in the flyleaf.
