Islam has become the world’s fastest-growing religion over the last decade, according to a new report by the Pew Research Center.
Christians remain the world’s biggest religious group, but Christians (of all denominations, counted as one group) have not kept pace with global population growth from 2010 to 2020.
Analysts at Pew Research Center examined more than 2,700 censuses and surveys and found that although the number of Christians rose by 122 million, reaching 2.3 billion, as a share of the world’s population Christians fell 1.8 percentage points, to 28.8 per cent.
