Global: WHO pandemic treaty raises freedom of speech concerns

A new international pandemic treaty being drafted by the World Health Organisation (WHO) may threaten the free speech of Christians and churches.

Legal experts at the Christian advocacy group Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) say the draft treaty includes plans which may restrict open debate about how any future pandemics are handled.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many churches and Christians wanted a more open discussion about whether the ban on public gatherings for worship was a proportionate and necessary requirement.
