Mr O, I need some help. I have a whole host of practical questions starting with ‘How’, but I seem unable to get a clear answer to any of them.
Can you give me some examples?
Well, yes. As you know, I left home some years ago. But now my parents are beginning to get old. How can I be a really good son to them?
That’s helpful. And another example?
There are so many. For instance, how can I get more out of my daily Bible reading? How can I improve my prayer life? How can I be a better witness at work? And I could go on and on. As you can see, they are all practical questions about Christian living.
You would get a clear answer to every one of those questions if you practised what I call ‘Upside-down thinking’, or what some books call ‘Inversion’.
