It’s time for our ‘woke’ Civil Service to wake up

The Christian Institute’s decision to challenge the Civil Service’s official endorsement of Pride is not an act of hostility, but of principle. At its heart, this case is about impartiality – the cornerstone of public trust in government. Civil servants are meant to serve the whole public, not signal allegiance to one side of a controversial debate.

When rainbow lanyards, Pride flags, and pronoun declarations appear on government property and communications, they carry a clear political message. However sincerely intended, they suggest that the State has taken sides on questions of sex, gender, and identity – matters on which the public profoundly disagree.
