The channel island of Jersey has become the first territory in the British Isles to legalise assisted dying.
Care Not Killing, an organisation opposed to legalisation, has said it is ‘deeply disappointed’ by the move.
The group believes the legislation breaches obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights, and that this is precisely why Royal Assent had been held up for so long.
