King Charles III has drawn criticism after choosing not to issue a formal Easter message this year, even though he did send a greeting to Muslims for Ramadan.
Some critics argue that the omission sits uneasily with the King’s constitutional role as Supreme Governor of the Church of England and ‘Defender of the Faith’.
They point in particular to the contrast between the absence of an Easter greeting and the monarch’s recent public messages marking Ramadan and Eid.
