The leader of the Liberal Democrats, Sir Ed Davey, has sent a letter saying the party will oppose official guidance which protects safe spaces for biological females.
The guidance was introduced by the Equality and Human Rights Commission following a UK Supreme Court ruling which said the meaning of ‘female’ in the Equality Act is biological, not ideological.
Now a public letter sent by Sir Ed Davey, the Lib Dem leader, calls on the Equality Commission to withdraw the guidance, saying it is not ‘fit for purpose’.
