On Sunday 10 May, the Lune Street church in Lancaster celebrated its 46th anniversary. Our guest preacher was Mike Judge, pastor of Chorlton Evangelical Church and Editor of Evangelical Times.

Fifty-five people gathered for the morning worship service. We were pleased to welcome several visitors, including former pastor, Phil Arthur, who served the church for thirty years, and his wife, Barbara.

Mike led the worship and expounded verse 1 of Philippians 4, concentrating on the thought that we should love each other as brothers and sisters in Christ, and that we should stand together and stand firm in the truths of the gospel.

After the service, we heard two short presentations. Mike Jones, one of the founder members, shared a brief history of the church, followed by Mike Judge, who spoke about encouraging developments at his church in Chorlton. He also explained the benefits of subscribing to Evangelical Times!

We then enjoyed a fellowship lunch together, before Mike moved on to expound verses 2 and 3 of Philippians 4. He gave us five helpful and practical ways to promote harmony and unity within the church fellowship.

We give thanks to our God for a wonderful anniversary Sunday with excellent Spirit-blessed preaching, coupled with good fellowship and a superb meal – all of which made for rich blessings indeed.
