Prayer Book website

The Prayer Book Society has launched a special website in preparation for its upcoming 350th anniversary of the Church of England’s founding liturgy. Ahead of a range of special events planned for 2012 to mark the occasion, www.bcp350.org.uk was launched during a special ceremony at the Prayer Book Society’s annual conference, held in Cirencester.

A spokesman said, ‘The website will become the centre piece of all that 2012 means for us. National and regional events, special celebrations and a new online version of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer will all be accessible through this portal.’

The site also has endorsements from supporters including bishops, MPs such as Mark Pritchard, chairman of the Prayer Book Society, celebrities and commentators. It carries a live countdown clock towards the official anniversary of Cranmer’s Book of Common Prayer.
