Author and Bible scholar Wayne Grudem, who worked on the English Standard Version and authored Systematic theology, toured the UK in June to discuss whether political involvement distracts from the gospel.

Packed-out events, held in locations such as Peterborough, London, Liverpool, Sheffield, Cambridge and Chessington were arranged by the Christian Institute (CI). Dr Grudem is a former president of the Evangelical Theological Society and Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. He is Research Professor of Theology and Biblical Studies at Phoenix Seminary, Arizona.

Colin Hart, director of the CI, said, ‘The tour is part of our commitment to help time-pressured Christians think biblically about contemporary ethical issues’.

Dr Grudem also has a YouTube following, after a video clip unveiled at New Word Alive earlier this year. In it, UCCF workers performed a song about his work to the tune of Greased lightning.
