The Church of England's ongoing debate over prayers for same-sex couples reached a fresh juncture last month as General Synod debated procedural changes to its Living in Love and Faith (LLF) programme.

Contrary to some reports, the church has not abandoned discussion of same-sex blessings. Rather, it has ended the current LLF process, but it has also launched a new phase of work on the matter.
