A Christian nurse who was reported to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as an alleged ‘risk to the public’ has had the cases against her dropped.

The nurse, 41-year-old Jennifer Melle, had not used the preferred gender identity of a convicted, biologically male paedophile, who was serving time in a male prison.

The patient was being treated at St Helier University Hospital in South London and receiving treatment through a male catheter.

Despite telling her bosses that the patient had subjected her to extreme racial abuse, she said, she was ‘treated like a criminal’ for explaining her Christian beliefs.
