Police should stop logging non-crime hate incidents, watchdog says

Non-crime hate incidents (NCHIs) should no longer be recorded by the police, the policing watchdog has said.

Many Christians and street preachers – as well as others – have been issued with NCHIs for lawfully expressing their beliefs.

But now, Sir Andy Cooke, His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary, says, ‘Police still need to get the basics right and focus on the issues that matter to the public.
