Previously, I wrote the first of a two-part article considering how we may profit by meeting together to pray. In that first article, we considered six specific ways. Here are nine more.
Opportunity
Smaller prayer times can be a great help to those who are shy of praying in a larger meeting. At a time of prayer together it is a good thing to give everyone present opportunity and time to pray. As we gain assurance over the matter of praying out loud, we can then more easily join in at a larger meeting.
Community
As others pray, our minds are filled with information that perhaps we did not know – about those seriously ill or in difficulties, about needs and blessings in the church, etc. We actually learn a great deal in a prayer meeting! That does us good, as it stimulates our prayer for others. (As a practical piece of advice, it is a good thing to have a notebook and a pen handy in a prayer meeting!)
